Former poet laureate Ted Koosier once said, “If you wake in the familiar and discover it strange, you never need leave your home again.” This is not only an inspirational quote, but a point of creative confirmation for me as well. The humblest of things, like a saltshaker or a bicycle, shines and strikes me like a universe in miniature. The mundane can sparkle like a jewel, new discoveries in all things seemingly ordinary.
I find this to be the soul of what I love to do most…to make.
